January 18, 2026
It is with a resigned yet peaceful heart that Jack and I want to let you know we will be closing MoorBern Farm as we know it effective immediately. There will be no future deliveries.
We will not be renewing our free range chicken license for 2026 and will reduce our laying hen flock to a more manageable number for our own use. If you are interested in supporting other small chicken farmers, let us know and we can suggest a few.
Our blueberry bushes will of course continue to produce and we look forward to having time to work in the field more than we have been. We will not be accepting pre-orders for berries but do hope to have some u-pick times open.
The last 10 years have been exactly what we dreamed when we wrote our Small Farm Dream in 2012. We have had more ups than downs, more happiness than sadness, but the reality of the new world in which we are living cannot be glossed over. Times are hard. And the time has come for us to look inward and not quite so much outward.
Thank you ever so much for your support and encouragement. We both have tears in our eyes as our decision becomes a reality.
Please continue to support local - it continues to be more important now than ever before.
Cynthia and Jack
